On a warm day in March – while waiting at the typical 12 minute traffic light – I saw the east entry fountain of The Ranches operating. I haven't seen it working since. Is it broken again? Did they turn it off, relative to the construction going on? Or, are they waiting for a particular date?
Also, does anyone know the status of the west entry fountain? I thought I remember someone (probably Tiffany) saying that The Ranches was going to have to rebuild that one and perhaps offset the cost to the businesses that are developing the land (Maverick or whoever).
They signs are quite nice when they are actually working! |

Don't know the status. I thought the HOA took over the water features this year to get them replumbed where need be and working again. The HOA took over most landscaping care this year in the Ranches.
I'm out of the loop right now, so I don't know much. Call and ask the HOA. If they say the city is doing it then call the city 789-6666 and ask for Jeff Weber.
For all I know... they may be waiting for the freezing to stop. Stupid freezing....Thought it would be safe to turn the water on and get the sprinklers fixed and ready for summer. I was wrong... One spot was in an area that froze and busted. |

The Ranches did take over the fountain, and we are working on getting it up an running again. We had it working for a few weeks last fall before shutting it down for the winter. This spring after it was started again it failed almost immediately. When we had contractors look at it we was discovered that the fountains had originally been installed with wiring that was inadequate and that the wiring had fried when the pumps were restarted.
The Board has approved funds to rewire the problematic section and it is hoped that the fountain can begin flowing very soon.
If you have more questions feel free to call the HOA office @ 789-5500, or you can email questions to any of the members of the board. You can find all of the Boards emails at rancheshoa.com

"The Board has approved funds to rewire the problematic section and it is hoped that the fountain can begin flowing very soon."
So ... how is the fountain fix coming along?? I think of the 1460 days I've lived in The Ranches, it's been operational about 30 days total?
I bet most Ranches residents don't even know ther IS a fountain. They are probably confused and concerned if they see water pouring from the entry signs. |
